Exhibition Overview
Let Freedom Bring… gathers artists whose work interrogates the layered meanings of freedom, resistance, and collective memory. Presented by Powerhouse Arts in partnership with AANYAA, the exhibition reflects on histories—personal, political, and inherited—and invites viewers to consider how liberation is shaped, challenged, and enacted in everyday life.
I am honored to include Nangeli, a painting from my project A Tax Paid in Flesh, which examines the history of the Breast Tax and the women who resisted a system that sought to legislate dignity and worth through the body.
